Washington DC – or simply DC, as is well-known for being like another place on earth. It is the capital of America, arguably the largest superpower in the world, making historic decisions about its corridors and offices. Unlike capitals, however, DC is not really a “natural” city; Instead of being born organically over time, they were specifically designed to maintain America’s headquarters. Obviously, DC needs attention.
This is a city that needs money. What if the US government basically lives here and DC can be quite expensive – especially if you spend most of your time in the central area (which visitors usually do). Fortunately, there are a handful of hostels in DC that cater to travelers while watching the strings of their bags. Fortunately, these hostels are great places that prove to be a social and comfortable place to stay in the city.
One such Washington hostel is the Hilltop Hostel, which promises a fun and relaxed environment. In addition to the comfortable bedrooms, the hostel offers a ping pong table and hammocks in the back yard for your comfort.
Other great Washington hostels include LOFTSTEL Washington and Hostel DC International. Book a stay in one of these and it is guaranteed to rest your head.

From the point of view of sightseeing, The National Mall – or, in short, The Mall – takes place in Washington DC. This unique area of the green belt is home to buildings with world-renowned institutions – it would take weeks to explore the area properly.
1. White House
Of course, the first institution that comes to mind is the White House. Unfortunately, however, hiking the US government home is a bit difficult; tours must be arranged through your embassy at least six months in advance. And even then you are not guaranteed to get in.
Luckily, neighboring Capital tours are a little easier – morning tickets are available for afternoon tours that day. Inside, you will learn about the various corridors of power as well as the building’s impressive art collection (mostly portraits).
2. The Smithsonian Institute
There are impressive museums around the mall; put together, they form what is known as The Smithsonian Institution. These government-sponsored cultural heritage banks make for a wonderful day of sightseeing – to determine which museum interests you most, visit the Castle Information Center, the red building of The Mall.
Among the museums, long-term tourist favorites include the Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum, while the American Indian Museum and the American History Museum are also among the best.
Other slightly wider museums in Washington DC include the National Postal Museum, the International Spy Museum, and the National Museum of Crime and Punishment.
3. Chelan Lake
One of the most beautiful areas of Washington is Lake Chelan. Lake Chelan is a 51-mile lake that stretches from the dry rolling hills of the east to the high Cascade Mountains in the west. The towns of Chelan and Manson are located on the southeast coast with hotels, restaurants, condominiums and many shopping malls. At the top of the lake lies the Stehekin community, which has no roads leading in or out. Stehekin is only accessible by hiking trail, floating plane or water ferry. A lake trip to Stehekin from Chelan is a great way to spend a day or a weekend.
4. Ancient Lakes
Located a few miles west of Quincy Community, near Highway 28, it is known as the Ancient Lakes. These small lakes are located in a small canyon and provide a great view of the East Washington Terrain for centuries. There are trails that cross the area and even lead travelers to the walls of the canyon. Camping is allowed in the area of the ancient lakes, including fishing. Dusty Lake and Columbia rivers can be reached by trails nearby. Outside the car park, which is two miles from the ancient lakes, parking is prohibited.
5. Sun Lakes State Park
South of Coulee and Lake Banks in Sun Lakes State Park. This is a wonderful place for those who want to get out and enjoy the great outdoor North Central Washington state. The park leads to many small lakes where fishing, kayaking, swimming, and canoeing are possible. There are cabins for rent, a golf course, watercraft for rent and a nice selection of camping grounds. Nearby attractions include Dry Falls, Banks Lake, Soap Lake, and Lenore Lake Caves.
6. The Smithsonian Museums
World-renowned, they cover a wider range of topics related to the arts, space exploration and national treasures. The map and information can be obtained from the Smithsonian Institute. These are very interesting to see, and children, in particular, want to explore interactive space museums. Save time watching the IMAX movie at the Space Museum and the Natural History Museum.
7. National Monument and Monuments
The national monuments are truly spectacular, showing their rich heritage. The best way to see them at night is when they are on, and they are less crowded, so parking is easier. In sunny days you can take a tour bus and the car park will definitely entertain you.
8. Three Government Houses
While in the state of the US capital, you can’t miss the Capitol Building, the United States Supreme Court and the White House. Here you will find the full understanding of the democratic government. You can book advance tours of these places.
Because Hawaii is at risk of natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions and hurricanes, always pay attention to official warnings during your stay.
9. George City
Georgetown is a place to spend time near the historic waterfront and the area is full of activities. This is the best place to shop and eat healthy at restaurants here.
10. Kennedy Center
Don’t forget to visit the Kennedy Center for concerts and shows that are full of fun and always want to visit this place.
11. Great Falls Park
For adventure lovers, take a trip to Great Falls Park for the best and spectacular views of the Potomac River. The park covers 800 acres of land, just over 14 miles from Washington DC.
